He could have picked a better moment to get involved with some pissed moron in the crowd, the first game after Roos president Graham 'Uptha' Duff read him the riot act (been dying to get that one in ever since I first saw his name).

Methinks the JYD might be headed for the doghouse.

He was favourite with the bookies to be the first coach sacked about three weeks ago - my guess is that those odds are a bit shorter this week.

I swear his head is going to explode one day...

Ya gotta like a bloke that wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't turn into a Socrates quoting clown or the AFL's version of the Riddler.

It's only footy for Gawd's sake.

Holy faaark. Ten News says the bloke that Laidley shouted at was found dead on a railway line last night.

Thats so sad.

It's not his fault but you can imagine Laidley would be feeling pretty low today.

chrisso (chrisso), Monday, 29 May 2006 23:27 (nineteen years ago)

Laidley did not take training this morning.

He was never likely to drive anybody mad with his enthusiasm before but this could speed up the end.

(Exactly how would anybody be worse off if this story hadn't made it to the public domain?)

Very sad - the statement from the family has declared the gent took his own life but it had nothing to do with the footy - possibly a severe case of depression. I feel very sorry for Laidley (and I don't even like him)
