Throughout the build-up to the opening round of the Wizard Home Loans Cup, much talk had centred on how vulnerable the Brisbane Lions were leading into the 2004 season.

While I know it is only the pre-season, I was absolutely thrilled to see just how well our young guns played. Surprised Hawthorn didn't put up more of a fight, it was very obvious to me, they rely so heavily on Shane Crawford being on the ground.
