i feel like i am asked for directions by strangers a disproportionate amount

i once swam under a pink moon, the same day i had listened to 'pink moon'

that i am inordinately skilled at super bomberman 2

i photograph well

my teenage poetry isnt entirely w/o merit

i am good at picking up on trends and, if the opportunity arose, would do well at trend-spotting as a career of some kind

corollary perhaps: i am good at figuring what restaurants will be popular and not only because i go to lots of restaurants

my sweat is overly acidic

i also think i get asked directions by strangers a disproportionate amount! my theory has always been that i look like if i turned out to be crazy i would not be physically capable of doing much damage to a stranger.

haha if there was ever anyone else this thread was intended for

xp - i have developed a bunch of theories abt this the two most likely being that a) i am usually reasonably well-groomed and non-threatening looking and b) i tend to walk very purposefully (another self-myth) and so people assume i know where things are. at first i took a shameful pride in the # of tourists in paris that would stop me and haltingly ask for directions places this happened a lot because our apartment was near the gard du nord but when actual french people did it it was a cause of acute embarrassment because my french is very poor

the reason is probably that ilx type people have iphones with maps and a vague conception of what they are doing and where they are going, or at least they would like to think this, so either by not needing to or by pride they seldom ask others for directions and are surprised when others do

i don't think it's the non-harmful thing, i don't think i look like someone who is going to kick people for asking directions but i probably look like i could do a fair amount of harm were that the case

my personal idea of reference is that people can just intuit that i am a person who likes to know the relative positions of places and things, lists and maps and world-inventories

I get asked for directions a lot in Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Arabic, Russian, Hindi and a variety of other languages i apparently look marginally more likely than other people to speak.

I am exceptionally good at predicting how many minutes injury/stoppage time the ref will add at the end of a football match. I have no other skills.

I can usually tell the time, to within three minutes, that i have woken up without having looked at my watch.

I feel i have a much higher than average success rate with coin tosses.

I feel like I can guess the time generally, to within a few minutes. Probably cos I'm anxious. Some people seem to have no sense of time whatsoever.

the proudest moment of my life so far was being asked the location of a local bookmaker, i was flattered to think i could be mistaken for the sort of person who spends every day in the tote
