Burton Joyce must be a pretty boring place because its slender Wiki entry boasts it has a civil parish, a population of 4,000 and that it’s home to the Burton Joyce railway station. So thank our lucky stars that this small, picturesque rural community has finally been given something to write about courtesy of the Lively Bird Festival. Now entries should be updated to read: live music, spoken word, real ale and local food 26 May.

Toploader – who are best known for their 2000 global hit Dancing in the Moonlight - will be headlining the festival, alongside 30 plus live music and spoken word acts taking place from 12 noon through to midnight. There’s also plenty of activities being put on for kids such as fire juggler and street entertainer Steve Pike, a circus skills workshop and a bouncy castle, meaning the adults can sample the range of local ales. This will include six of the finest from Nottingham-based Magpie Brewery as well as various lagers and ciders.

Wow ! The Bluejaks soul band from Nottingham are a tight band . Great live version of Soulman at the lively bird festival.

It's been fun, no trouble to moderate and I've enjoyed the discussions, the slanging matches, the banter, the lot, and you all gave me a pretty easy time overall. (No, I'm NOT going to start crying half-drunken tears or singing 'My Way'!!!!)

See you all at C4 or The Grandstand or elsewhere. This forum will stay on the ILX site in case we ever need to reactivate it, and I will still drop in to ILX every now and again.

Smaller than F. p. calidus with darker upper plumage and rufous underparts with weak barring on body. Beware, plumage is variable. From Rufous-bellied Eagle by smaller size, pointed wings, and white patch behind the cheek. From Hobby by much larger size and lacks the chestnut underwing coverts. Sexes similar but female larger. Juvenile: streaked body. Habit is similar to that of F. p. calidus.

Voice: a loud scream hehehehe.
