How will you celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss? I was going to try to do a Dr. Seuss tie-in with my two-year-old story time, but those books are a bit advanced. Then I was going to do so Seuss-like books, but easier, but now I think I may just ignore it. I see that Target is doing a promotion; nothing gets past them.

It is also World Book Day! Though, paradoxically, just in the UK and Ireland (?)

They are having a 'bring your suspected rare books to be valued' event at my local library. Not sure that's exactly the spirit of the thing, but I might go along anyway for the Antiques Roadshow style 'disappointed granny' effect.

On that date, I will be reading I Love Books, to see what you other people have been reading.

This made the front page of our paper this morning, with local high school kids preparing skits based on Dr. Seuss books for the elementary grades, and a local business taking donations for the First Books project.

Today is Read Across America Eve. Here's hoping that tonight the Good Bookworm will leave some interesting and fun books on the nighttables of each and every one of you.

Ha, rent. That's a concept I haven't thought about in a while.
