That would be easiest, but some non-fiction employs creativity equally as well as any novels, and a short story collection ought to qualify, too.

But my favorite new undersung (although it is getting sung about somewhat) trend in books is "uncreative writing", such as Kenneth Goldsmith's fantastic book The Weather.

'wittgenstein's daughter' is a play by this dude (as far as i know), not by david markson. the latter wrote 'wittgenstein's mistress' though which is a fine little book.

Although we could also make a list for Josh of people who have (deservedly) become more famous during his lifetime, such as, say: Lydia Davis. Or, in English speaking countries anyways: Georges Perec. (Almost everything outside of "Things" I think was translated after he died in the very very early 80s.)
