Should we switch from quarterly to annual WAYR threads?

As stated in the thread title. Should we switch from quarterly to annual WAYR threads? I think it might be a sensible change, all things considered.

it is true that the titles are almost always awful, and one can at least hope for better in three months' time

As I pointed out in the current WAYR thread, switching to a Grand Unified Annual WAYR thread would solve the northern/southern mismatch of seasons and show due respect to the sheep fuxors among us.

for dow we could start a separate thread to act as a repository for all the titles we wish we could have given to the now-imaginary quarterly threads.

They should be monthly

Hadn't thought of that---why (should they be)?

We should poll this quarterly and change back and forth depending on the results.

Then we'd need new quarterly titles for the poll threads. Other than that I guess it might be OK, in honor of democracy, consensus and all that.

At this point I'm preparing to start the next WAYR thread on January 1st on the assumption it would cover all of 2025. If this proves unpopular or unworkable for some reason it would be easy enough to have a mod alter the title to reflect the portion of 2025 it covers. Then a new thread could be started, as either quarterly or semiannual.

If this idea bothers you, speak up.
