I really enjoyed The Queue by Basma Abdel Aziz. A dystopian/depressingly realistic bureaucratic satire, I guess 'Kafka in the contemporary Middle East' would be the catchy tagline? Not particularly innovative or experimental in its literary style but a solid read, would recommend.
