Good biographies of Stanley? Livingstone?

Or Brazza? Basically African explorers. I'm reading The Scramble for Africa, and the bits about those guys are tantalisingly brief. So, before I go looking on Amazon, I thought I'd ask you guys first.

You know the kind of thing I like. I don't want My Search for Stanley: a modern layabout recreates the expeditions of HM Stanley, or any crap like that. I want proper.

There is a new biography of Stanley out, but you already know this as it was reviewed in the LRB.

Not terribly on-topic as far as being bios, but I recall enjoying The White Nile and The Blue Nile by Alan Moorehead when I read them a couple years ago.
