I tried to read this as a teenager, made it about 60 pages in. Truman Capote found it a total hoot.

I think you need to loves you some camp to go the Capote way. Never tried to read it, but then it never appealed in the slightest.

i just google book'd this to see if 'frankly my dear, i don't give a damn' was actually in the original book. amusingly, almost every instance of 'damn' comes in the form of 'damn yankees.'
