not sure if asking this question is maybe some kind of conflict of interest, or perhaps a breach of forum ethics... ;) i'm not internet-savvy enough to judge..
but a friend showed me how it works and it seems pretty cool: you create your bookshelf (or what you wish was on your bookshelf) and then the site matches you up with other people who have the same books as you. i thought it seemed pretty cool, but i was rather drunk at the time.

"The problem with our large bookshelves is that they are buried in our home where only a subset of people can see what we have read. Now with Shelfari you can show off that book collection to your friends and the world!"

I don't get why that's a problem. Whenever I see someone describe books in terms that make them out to be accessories, I get a bit put off. (and I say that as someone who has an unfortunate materialistic fondness for them.)

I prefer LibraryThing myself.

LibraryThing is way cooler. (No, I haven't tried shelfari. Just trust me.) They even have Unsuggester now.

the interface is too slow to enter many books at once.

Which one Milo? You can import a csv into LibraryThing to do many at a time.

Yeah, LibThng is rather easy to zoom through books with.

Shelfari is slow, Library Thing is plenty quick

Should we do a ILXORITI GROUP? Maybe a silly idea?
