so while i was seeing if the academic library here had any jim thompson i found these two awesome library of america collections you miiiiiight wanna look for:

what's even better is if you take the dust jackets off like the library here has done they're not hideous!

the choice of novels is fairly yawnsome

Didn't that come out already?

I was just visiting my friend in Seattle who collects LoA books (he has most of them, but not those noir books), and we debated the covers. I used to think, before I had really looked at them, that they were kinda trashy, because of those black ugly covers, with their dumb calligraphy, but I like the samey look they have on the shelf and my friend points out that they usually pick great author photos.
