I'm re-reading The Serial and it's just as terrific and funny as I remember it from 15 or so years ago. I understand it's out of print but they've got it for 1 cent on amazon which I think is probably a fine way to spend a cent.

Anyone able to recommend anything else of this ilk? Not necessarily the format (small soap-like episodes) but the subject matter.

I'm just going to bump this after 3 years because having just watched The Kids Are Alright this book popped back into my head.

So books concerning middle-class Californians (1970s if you have them) - anyone care to name a couple? Please?
