Hello to those interested in Thomas Bernhard. I'm one of those who believes his notes on his early life published in one volume in English under the title GATHERING EVIDENCE (tr by David McLintock) the best way to find out about him, also it's riveting reading in my opinion. THE VOICE IMITATOR, although short, is confusing -- I'd go for THE LOSER, a novel about which I am almost psychotically devoted. It is about music and features an extended rant (what TB novels do not feature an extended rant!) on Glenn Gould and the Goldberg Variations. Good luck! GE may take a hunt but I think you'll find it worth the effort. Virginia Allen
