No specific sequel (I think), but there are extra snippets of Jimmy Corrigan in Ware's most recent book: Quimby the Mouse.

Yeah, it's been forever. There was supposed to be a new issue out by December last year, but Fantagraphics is very behind and it's still not out yet.

BUT, Ware is the guest editor of the new issue of McSweeney's. Which should be out around April. It's the ALL comics issue. Should be amazing.

Ware is working for McSweeny's? Goodybe, signed hardcover edition of 'Jimmy Corrigan'.

Ware has had a relationship with McSweeney's for a while. He had a comic in issue #6, and he designed a mural for 826 Valencia (the writing center in SF that McSweeney's runs).

Also: Ware's regular comic for the last couple of years now has been Rusty Brown. I think we can assume that these strips will be collected in book form at some point -- though it won't surprise me if it's still five or more years away from completion.

is this becoming a jimmy corrigan s/d?

if so, let me mention that he is doing a strip in the back of the decorating/design magazine Nest. yes it is something like $12.50 an issue but it's a great decorating mag and it's only quarterly!

let me also mention that it (the comic, not the mag) is the most depressing thing ever!!

three years pass...

Why did they make Jimmy Corrigan look like he was 80? He looked older than his dad?

I think this was one of the major things holding me back from enjoying Jimmy Corrigan.

Jimmy Corrigan did look really stupid. I know he is supposed to be a loser but his age, clothes, and extreme quietness is pushing it to far. I wouldn't recommend the book to some people because they would read it and think 'wow the main character is an absolute loser'. I do like the book but even the flow was a bit off (purposely?).

Quimby the Mouse was terrible. It was my first Chris Ware work after I read Jimmy Corrigan. It is also my last (until he writes a full length graphic novel again).

Wait, Jimmy Corrigan is a loser. I think we, as a nation, can agree on that, surely?

Also, I remember the Quimby the Mouse strips as being pretty great. I didn't get the big book because I had the two comic book versions ("floppies", are they?). But I like my silent movie melodramas in comic book bicephalous mouse form, apparently.
