Book/Lit Blogs

Somebody asked in the "Introduce Yourself" thread about good book/lit blogs.

I only read two, at the moment, because they're the only ones I really know about:

Bookslut (www.bookslut.com/blog/)
The Elegant Variation (http://marksarvas.blogs.com/elegvar/)

I have my own at www.vestige.org/daily/ but I won't comment on its quality.

Anyone else have some recommendations?

www.chicklit.com

It's not the currently popular genre - it's discussions on who's reading what, recommendations, etc. And Bookslut.com is excellent!

Is there a problem with the server, do you know? I can't seem to connect.

Thanks for the kind words about my blog; if you look at the left side, under "The Objects of My Affection" I link to about a half dozen others. Maud Newton's is the best of the bunch. Enjoy!

Nice blog. The Unbearable Lightness of Beijing made me snort with laughter.

I find myself looking at the Literary Saloon a lot.

Your blog looks excellent, btw, August.

I like going to All Consuming to see what books are mentioned in blogs. It's cool because they list books mentioned in the last hour, day, week, etc.

August, chicklit.com is back up - no idea why it wasn't connecting for me either...

I was the one who brought up the good lit blogs in the 'Introduce Yourself' thread. Guess I should have started a new thread there. Anyway, here are some of the ones I read daily:

http://www.artsjournal.com/aboutlastnight/ (more cultural than literary)
http://bookninja.com/
http://sarahweinman.blogspot.com/
http://www.nchicha.com/cupofchicha/
http://www.identitytheory.com/ (good interviews with authors)
http://www.complete-review.com/saloon/
http://www.maudnewton.com/blog/ (probably my favorite)
http://moorishgirl.com/
http://www.edrants.com/
http://marksarvas.blogs.com/elegvar/
Its a lot I know. But these are the most interesting in my opinion.

I can, and will, talk all day about books. Especially if you feed me Guinness beer.

Heyo Chuck,

I dig yer blog, but it's about films, not books. This is a book/lit category, and I hate to say it but usually the book is way better than the movie. Unless we're talking about Apocalypse Now. Or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Come to think of it, what are your ideas on books/movies, and which convey the idea better?

McDowell Crook, Saturday, 6 March 2004 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay... I'll post my blog. It's not all about books (random/personal bits appear now and then), but it mostly is. Fluid Motion.

Ach, that's horrible news. Always one of my go-to sites back in the day. He seemed inexhaustible.
