Just talk to me about this if you've read it ... I'm absolutely hating it, not for the 'drugs can be good' bla bla content though I find all that stuff so dodgy, in fact not for any of the philosophy cause how am I supposed to know whether free love is good or bad or indifferent but just cause it's SO FULL of philosophy and so free of melodrama ... I want to like this book, I feel it would be really sophisticated to like it but I'm hating it so much I feel like I'm sticking a spoon into 3 day old custard every time I start wading into it again. Which is constantly because I have run out of library books.

I found it interesting that the same things that made Brave New World a living Hell are the exact same things, used in different ways, make Island a paradise.

When I was growing up in a conservative small town. I found reading Island to be very liberating. Different strokes I guess.

two weeks pass...
Brave New World is my all-time favorite book, so naturally I tried to read Island, hoping I would enjoy it as much. No, no matter how many times I've picked it up, I've never been able to finish it. Boring, boring, boring!
