Becoming part of a book

I'm creating a time schedule with an artist friend to paint calligraphy and ideograms on my skin. Nothing permanent. I just want to know what it feels like to be written on with another writing instrument (ballpoints tend to dig and tickle)... and being a living chapbook.

My questions to you are about Shelley Jackson's project: Shelley Jackson invites participants in a new work entitled "Skin."

Would you? Have you? I wonder what it's like to be a part of a story - carrying a word with you always?

I guess I would, but only if she or her publisher is footing the bill.

That's fucking pretentious, though.

Ditto, homestar.

Would I? Given the lack of control involved, hell no. It's taken me years to decide on piercings, and I can take those out. I do sort of like the idea, but I think that maybe a shorter story would've been better so that if any words decide to get together, there's a greater chance of it being meaningful(?). But then again, it's obvious she's not shooting for convenience with this.
In a very rough sense, this reminds me of another artist who tends to work in disadvantaged countries, and has people perform acts of various kinds for money, as a statement about the poverty. One such was having a continuous line tattooed across the backs of several men. The stunts can easily be read as degrading, and I'm not really sure where I stand on the matter.

Heck Yeah! I think it sounds like a lot of fun. If I was only twenty again!

I'm going on 40 pepek and I'm thinking of having a tattoo of a word from one of my favorite novels inked...but which book?! Thankfully, I've 3 full years to decide before the 4-0 bday ;)

I definitely would, but only if I could read the story first. I would need to check out all the possibly embarrassing words to see if I could live with them or not. I kind of like the randomness of it.
