I loved House for Mr Biswas, and that was my introduction to Naipul. Followed up w/ A Bend in the River, very good but not quite as transcendent. Contemplating The Enigma of Arrival next.
Non fiction: Among the Believers is absolutely essential. A very readable mix of journalism, history, memoir and travel writing. One man's view of Islam, I suppose, but a very illuminating one.
