i have to do a presentation in my Russian lit class on a topic of my choosing that involves this novel. Im thinking about comparing the main character of the novel (pechorin) to jerry sienfeld. does anyone else see this comparison, and if so, do you have any idea what episodes i should use?

if you dont see that comparison, do you have any ideas for Hero of our time projects?

this book is highly entertaining

but i doubt it mentions Lermentov (and ive never even heard of him, sorry).

I suppose you could say something about Jerry Seinfeld's real life as compared to the one on the "Seinfeld" sitcom, contra Lermontov's real life compared to the hero of our time.
The only reason I am thinking of this at all is because the novel ends with a duel, while Lermontov himself was later killed in one.
It would probably be a frightfully tedious project though!

God, I loved Lermontov as a teen! Oystein has brought up the delicious possibility that Seinfeld might be killed in a duel.
