Buying books abroad

Hi, lately I've discovered a site that compares prices for international Amazon stores.. it's nice because sometimes it's cheaper to get a book from france, canada or other places rather than the amazon.com site.

The site is Pricenoia : http://www.pricenoia.com/

Do you use this site or other book comparison engines? Do you think the savings are worth the wait for an international shipping?

Does anyone know where you can get Spanish books cheap(ish) in the UK? Bit of a tall order, I think.

I tend to order things from amazon.co.uk simply cos I'm pretentious and like to have the UK version (plus, they don't "translate" British books into American English).

However, when it comes to prices, I like allbookstores.com...I think they only cover Canada and the States though.

Thanks for the site!

I order French books from http://www.amazon.fr and http://www.fnac.com all the time. I often order books from amazon.co.uk if they're not available in the U.S. and I have ordered music from amazon.de 'cause it wasn't otherwise available.

Be warned, though; you're probably getting what you pay for. I used to have Pam's preference for British-published books as well, until I noticed how poorly produced they were; the paper is usually cheaper and the bindings aren't as strong. Now I only buy them if the authors don't have an American publisher. I've read that books on the Continent are better, though I haven't seen many to know for certain.
