Anyone know which is regarded as the best Hemingway bio these days? I'd prefer a critical bio but that's not essential. I've picked up a smattering of knowledge about his life over the years, read the autobiographical stories, as well as at least some chunks of the Carlos Baker bio (I can't remember if I read the whole thing). I've read some stuff relating to Fitzerald and others Hemingway features in (eg Amanda Vaill's book about Gerald and Sara Murphy). But all this was some time ago and I just want to get back up to speed. I may settle for rereading the Carlos Baker if it hasn't been superseded but it must be getting pretty old now.
