Classical Chinese Prose - Zuo Tradition

Has anyone read this? The selections I've read seem awesome--taut, strange, piercing.

Question number 1: Should I read the James Legge or Burton Watson tradition? I'm guessin Watson is a better writer but Legge's Victorian translation is complete.

Question number 2: Other works you recommend that are similar? I like the Lieh Tzu, Zhuangzi, ghost stories from Liao Tse (sp?). I haven't read New Accounts of Tales of the World? Is there a recommended translation for that?
