Has nobody out there read "The Lucifer Principle: A Scientific Expedition Into The Forces of History

This is scarey and fascinating. The Big Bad Wolf is at our door calling "Let me come in!" Maybe the "better angels" of our nature Abe Lincoln spoke of are more like those Rainer Maria Rilke writes of when he says "Every angel is terrible...."

I haven't read it, but now I want to!

Yeah, really. All writing after Shakespeare has been crap?? That's pretty dark.

At least that salvages The Anatomy of Melancholy. And it greatly simplifies my future reading list.

Hmmm. Amazon suggests I should also check out "Satan was never Lucifer. Satan was never good. Get the facts." Facts. Uh huh.

And this Bloom was a PR guy for Prince. I'm going to look for it at the library.

Yow! I just mentioned this to RJM, who exploded! "Oh, that's a godawful book! Devolves into a diatribe about Islam being an evil meme that must be stamped out." He thinks he actually had to review this, back when he was doing that sort of thing. So we undoubtedly have a copy somewhere.
