okay, fine, she's a friend of mine, but this thread never fails to amaze me:

A thread where you commission a poem from ILE

(just in case you missed it. gems from everyone all around.)

I agree. Beth has certainly distinguished herself in that thread. What she really needs is more competition. I have been trying my best to hold a candle to her, but that is a tall order. We need more candle holders on that thread. Care to give it a whirl?

Ahhhh! No way. I am no match for the likes of you guys. Too many lost brain cells. That's why I write about heavy metal every month. Nice & soothing. Nothing fancy. Beth is so quick! It's scary. Beth's beloved Donald is also a fine poet. He posts here sometimes.

Hell, for thirty of the last fifty years I've been squashing brain cells right and left, like cockroaches in a New York tenement, and I can still put a few good words together if I don't try to think too hard about it. You could, too.

Aimless, you are a true genius! My brain has apparently shrunk to the size of a grain of rice, a salt crystal, a flyspeck. I'm comforted knowing yours works so unfailingly fantastical.

Care to give it a whirl?

Righto.
