Anonymous Writing Group II: submissions thread, deadline 31 October

Welcome to round 2 of ILB's Anonymous Writing Group, where you may submit your works for anonymous publication; followed by feedback and criticism from all and any ilxors. It works like this:

• it will be primarily for creative writing, but we're not fussy
• it's for fragments, scenes, or short short stories; 500-1500 words feels about right
• email them to: ismaelklata at gmail dot com

• each will be assigned a nom de plume, unless otherwise requested, and published on an open thread
• criticism will follow; there will be an obligation to be constructive, but no obligation to be nice
• you may out yourself if you wish, but need not do so

Publication will be on 1 November; the deadline for submissions is 31 October

Just do it. Don't fret about context, we can critique on minutiae instead.

If I can find what darragh's on about then we'll have three submissions btw - which means we're almost quorate.

I was thinking about this earlier, the only reason I haven't sent anything is I'm not sure I want something enshrined on ILX forever.

I don't care about my youthful bullshit (not the current brand of it) - I just don't necessarily want to have the piece I would send permanently stored here, as it's still something I'm building on.

I hadn't thought of that, what's the concern? ILB Mod powers might be useful, I'll make enquiries.

I didn't want this to be a 77 affair - imo the possibility of disinterested folk popping in to criticise is an important feature of doing this (though tbf that didn't really happen in round one).

in cases like garda's where it's WIP; if ever we decide we want to submit anywhere something that's on here so it remains "unpublished", was my thinking. it's not like anyone i know irl is going to be able to turn up the embarrassing creative writings of "♛ LIL UNIT ♛ (thomp)", i mean

Bump. I've got I think seven contributions now, which is outstanding but there's always room for one more.

We're standing at nine now, with a day still to go.

I didn't expect so many; this is excellent so far. I think I'll post the submissions in two or three batches over a week or so, to make sure everything gets some daylight.

OK I'll chuck something along in a bit

I'm going to put the first batch up tomorrow, and the rest up Monday or Tuesday. If anyone else is still working on a piece, let me have it overnight please.
