Anybody want to explain why blocking unregistered users from posting "large amounts of text" is an actually good idea, and not a huge pile of horseshit thought up by a fucking numbskull?

1. MOST SHIT ON THIS BOARD IS ACTUALLY STARTED BY REGISTERED USERS.
2. ANYBODY CAN REGISTER. "REGISTERED ONLY" FEATURES THEREFORE STOP EXACTLY NOBODY.
3. I DON'T, FOR MY OWN PRIVACY AND CONVENIENCE.
4. WHATEVER THRESHOLD YOU'VE SET FOR "LARGE" WOULD FORCE PEOPLE LIKE NABISCO TO CUT HIS POSTS INTO ABOUT EIGHT SEPARATE SECTIONS, ON AVERAGE. E.G. TOO FUCKIN' LOW.
5. I'M WELL PISSED AT THIS POINT CAN YOU TELL.

I put in a limit some time back when huge amounts of text were being randomly crap flooded on threads. a few days ago someone was copying and pasting threads which was annoying and there were mod request to do something about it, so I thought a 1K limit would nip it in the bud. well it did stop.

i was going to put it back up when the "coast was clear" and I was actively looking out for unreg posts complaining about this. I've only seen your original on the transit strike thread, an uncharacteristic message from the pinefox (!!), and a guy called ratty on "I Make Music". oh and now another one from you on another thread

i have upped the limit to 4K. That's roughly 8 x the amount of text I can type in the "message input area" before it scrolls.

Thanks for your request. If only they were all this reasonable.
