Clicking on current link starts beeping, telling you your computer has been compromised, won't let you leave page, gives you phone number to call, claims they are your internet provider. Really is some cheesy web site called alert.tech-support-for-computerdotcom.

Clicking this link now takes you to a phishing site that starts throwing all sorts of scary-looking shit up on your screen along with a robo-voice insistently telling you your computer has been infected with a virus and you must call a certain phone number to fix it.

huh, I clicked on that link (stupidly and heedlessly) and got redirected to a parents.com video about baby sleep

and then I refreshed the page and got redirected to the phishing site JRB described (but I closed the window before the really scary stuff started)

and then I clicked on the link again and got redirected to a parents.com video about kids' clothing storage

weird
