I think that the obvious choice would be to lock deej's thread since it has a handful of posts compared to ums's and also since it was made in the spirit of deej being deej. what if you were to somehow combine the thread titles?

It wasn't me, but I presume because it seemed like everybody sorta agreed/resigned themselves into going with deejay's thread. Particularly via UMS c&ping the entirety of the original boring rap thread into the face tat one. then someone revived it this morning to talk about the music that was briefly discussed therein rather than carrying it over to the face tat thread.

I thought that your thread was the best solution to the problem and was in fact, very funny.

there's a history of multiple threads for singular topics; really not clear why this seems like someone's best idea.

at the very least, that's where i was planning on posting new rap i discovered and clearly someone else did as well.

I'm not gonna unlock it at the moment. Don't want to step on another mod's toes. Maybe whoever did lock it will show up and shed some light or you could try changing their mind?

In the meantime, what are some examples of multiple threads for singular topics you had in mind? Are you talking in terms of rolling threads specifically or just in general like there's 800 smashing pumpkins threads or whatever?

Competition is vital for a healthy marketplace.

Would you consider retitling your thread something else? Something with a strong trademark that contains the word "rap" to suit your business needs but does not contain the words "face tat", to avoid product confusion among the common consumers of rap threads?

It was me that locked it, I thought it was another of the five or six dumb threads started to make a point.

Honestly I think having a second rap thread just for the sake of having 'rap' in the title is pretty dumb as well but if it's healthy competition you're after then I hope you're prepared for the free market to have its say.

The over the top love for The 1975, especially on ilm, I consider a long game con. It makes no sense otherwise.

I was shocked when I skimmed over that thread.

They aren't on my radar at all, so I relistened to some stuff to make sure and then I did research to make sure this wasn't like a longform reddit type of joke.

I avoid ilm threads just so I don’t have to hear about bands like that! what are you all doing
