hi, this appears to be a not uncommon problem because I now know someone too trying to register and not getting a password...

I assume she's trying to register "quincie" and her e-mail starts with klg03ttg ('cept without googleproofing).

Thanks for looking out for me, Ally (U R A TREAT etc. etc.)! Still haven't gotten anything at that address and when I tried to do a password reset it did recognize me as quincie, so something went through. . .just not the e-mail-the-password part.

OK I managed to log in with the password that Mr. Noodles sent along via Ally (thanks bros!), but after changing some preferences managed to get logged out. No problem, right, 'cause I changed my password and know what it is, so I'll just log back in! BUT NO the system keeps telling me that my password is incorrect, and I can't sucessfully reset it because apparently my registered e-mail isn't working for purposes of ILX??? Ally has my correct e-mail address, which is working fine otherwise.

Sorry I'm such a pain in the ass. Can you believe I've been posting here for a couple of years and never registered???

Yeah I tried that too! It hates that first one AND the new one I supposedly set it to (I mean what are the chances I would make the same typo twice in "new pwd" and "confirm new pwd"?).

So yeah I'm having post hereas "SOSquincie" instead of straight-up "quincie" because if I do that I'm informed that the user name "quincie" has already been reserved! YES I KNOW I'M QUINCIE AND I RESERVED IT!!!

Yep, I had this problem too. I was trying to register "Capt. Cardinali" and my email is ayla_cardinali at hotmail dot com.
