HTML tag parsing changes?

I can't do [ /cute fake tags ] in messages for comedic effect anymore using the actual GREATER THAN or LESS THAN signs anymore a la HTML. This never was the case as long as you added a space after such characters.

ok, so at least the tags I use will actually do something if I use valid tags.

It's just that I seem to be the only one who can't use fake comedic tags

You have to use ampersand codes to use the left and right bracket. If you replace "ampersand" in the following with the symbol & then it will get you the brackets: ampersandgt = > and ampersand lt = <
