Umm, for the first time ever I have actually checked the IP before using the banhammer and it looks like banning this particular Nude Spockpuppet will have the side effect of banning Kenan as well.

Yeah, that's because JLD lives in Chicago, presumably around Kenan's home or office. Which means he's not Nude Spock. He just chose an unfortunate username.

Nude Spock, in all of his incarnations, never posted on any Chicago threads. JLD did.

haha JLD just wrote me. He got banned for being nude spock ("whoever that is").

OK, I unbanned the guy, WTF.

I know Nude Spock is a menace or whatever, but it does seem like the moderators are being a little too cavalier and ban-happy in ILX 2.0. Like, I'm not sure that a couple years ago we'd have banned uhhrrrrrr10 so readily, just for expressing an unpopular opinion. I'm just glad that I was able to post to this thread before it was hastily locked, as seems to be the standard on the ModReq board these days.

I've banned five individuals in the last week, J. This is a lot, I'll admit, though Nude Spock excepted, I don't think anyone's been banned apart from these since Dom got temp banned six weeks ago. FYI Nude spock has attempted to register on the site multiple times, by which I mean 20+ since his last freakout.

"Uhhrrrr10" actually does appear to be one of his that got through for a while.

This current individual appears to have chosen the wrong usename at the wrong time. Sorry about that, you'll note that I unbanned the guy on your say so, and I'm holding up my hands and admitting I was wrong?

There have been 2 individuals who have registered, and within 1/2 an hour have been spamming their bands on ILM

There was one individual who posted someone's credit card details on his user page.

So, I don't think we're being ban-happy, actually.

Also, I've tended to lock MRF threads the day after the request has been actioned recently.
