Why do images sometimes not display?

e.g. here: Not location specific, No rules: Welcome to ILX heaven

The first time I posted it I could see the image so I know I got the code right, but if I go back to the thread now the image isn't displaying. On viewing the page source it looks like the html is ok yet nothing appears.

I just refreshed the buggered image and it unbuggered (of course it's a word!) itself.
