chaki, Thursday, 17 April 2008 23:17 (seventeen years ago)

Why do you ask, felicity?

Yr list: Tombot is a site moderator (ie he has admin on all the boards), not just ILE. The rest is mostly right, but I'd have to do loginid searches to get you names for all the mods, and don't have time tonight.

stet, Thursday, 17 April 2008 23:21 (seventeen years ago)

No special reason. FAQ are very out of date. It came up recently that no one was modding ILBB and curious bc of general cries for transparency on secret borad thread.

felicity, Thursday, 17 April 2008 23:24 (seventeen years ago)

Yeh, the faq-list should really be autogenerated, but I'll update it by hand b/c that'll get done sooner :)

stet, Thursday, 17 April 2008 23:26 (seventeen years ago)

I'm only a mod on ILM, ILE and Moderator Request, fwiw.

Perhaps I'm being naive, but could someone please maybe assert a bit of reason and restraint on this thread?

Meta Threads on the Curtis Board: Reposted for Deeznuts and Alex in NYC

Alex in NYC, Saturday, 10 May 2008 02:13 (seventeen years ago)

im mod of that board. what do you want done?

the txt is actually copy and pasted from a thread on the "secret board" so even if its deleted the other thread "Alex in NYC is personally responsible for the gentrification of lower Manhattan" still exists.

chaki, Saturday, 10 May 2008 02:16 (seventeen years ago)

I don't get why that thread was started on the "secret board" if Jon was going to invite Alex anyway?

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 10 May 2008 02:20 (seventeen years ago)

(one of the admins can probably mod the thread on 77 if Alex so desires)

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 10 May 2008 02:21 (seventeen years ago)

No one invited me to it. Someone posted a link to my blog. That's how I discovered it. I'm not out to censor anything. I just think that a thread seemingly devoted to rather pointed personal attacks is a kinda offsides.

jhøshea, Saturday, 10 May 2008 13:25 (seventeen years ago)

Jon tried to invite you Alex but he didn't know your e-mail address that you use on ILX (I've been meaning to invite you too)

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 10 May 2008 13:36 (seventeen years ago)

How I encountered the thread isn't really the problem. I'm not sure an invitation to a character assassination party is really something I would really relish. I'm just put off by the very personal nature of the commentary. Maybe that sounds a bit rich coming from someone with a penchant for cartoonily vitriolic rants about pop music and pit bulls and charity muggers, but reading comments about my home, my wife, my income and whether or not I'm a suitable parent still come across as something of a shock. Am I supposed to be amused by this?

Alex in NYC, Saturday, 10 May 2008 22:19 (seventeen years ago)

afaik most people here like you and and your posts. just remember:

FAQ

Threads can be deleted but we don't like to do it often and will not usually delete a thread apart from in exceptional circumstances. These include:

* Libellous threads. If we think a thread might be libellous it might be deleted. This hasn't happened very often.
* Personal threads. If a thread is started discussing a registered user or their actions, that user has the right to ask for it to be deleted or locked. The thread does not have to be an attack on the user. This does not apply to threads users start themselves and later regret.
* Offensive threads. At their discretion, moderators can delete entire threads which are likely to cause offence. It happens very rarely - threads which are racially or sexually abusive are the most likely. Even then moderators might not delete the thread, if an offensive question seems likely to provoke debate. If you find a thread offensive, please say on the thread or email a moderator about it.

If you have a specific post you want deleted or edited -- for instance, because it is offensive or gives away personal information see above for details on how to contact moderators.

If you want it deleted, please say so. Inserting reason and restraint into it isn't in our power, AFAIK.

still not seeing mah mod buttons on ask freud -__-

p.s. Alex otm

am0n, Sunday, 11 May 2008 21:04 (seventeen years ago)

I don't want anyone banned or anything censored or stricken. I'd just like it if we kept that commentary a little less personal and, frankly, creepy. Maybe that's too much to ask.

Alex in NYC, Friday, 16 May 2008 19:23 (seventeen years ago)

Did anyone ever get you that Foyle's War box-set?

Pleasant Plains, Friday, 16 May 2008 19:44 (seventeen years ago)

Alex, just to chime in with an unsolicited comment, you are taking that whole deal in remarkably good stride, all things considered.

Sorry, man.

dell, Friday, 16 May 2008 20:01 (seventeen years ago)

It's not too much to ask but you are asking the wrong people.

bnw, Friday, 16 May 2008 20:07 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, the mods can't influence people's posting behavior; they can delete stuff and ban people.

HI DERE, Friday, 16 May 2008 20:09 (seventeen years ago)

heave ho starts personal threads that cross the irl line and he gets banned every week and jw started the one about alex and he was banned (?) so i don't really see what the problem is

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 May 2008 20:12 (seventeen years ago)

can't really think of anyone else/any other thread lately that was as personal wrt to irl stuff as the one jw started

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 May 2008 20:13 (seventeen years ago)

i dont think that jw has been banned, but i dont actually know for sure

John Justen, Friday, 16 May 2008 20:19 (seventeen years ago)

No need to ban JW since he is currently physically incapable of posting

The medicomp is a small case that contains various medical supplies should the Predator ever be injured. This healing kit contains enough tools to perform minor surgery and repair superficial wounds. Among the medical supplies are vials of liquid which when mixed with heated minerals, creates a regenerative sludge that can be used to cauterize wounds.[2] Also contained are a shrapnel extractor,[1] wound staplers,[1] one stimulant shot,[2] and one antiseptic tube.[1]
