Someone used an old login of mine - wtf?

Presumably the only way to sidestep such abuse would be to ban all your logins, past and present, just to be on the safe side. Obviously you'll appreciate this would be done purely for your own protection.

yeah, i'd have no problem with that.

but it'd be better to get to the bottom of this: clearly there are leaks in the system, if people can access each other's logins.

i can't remember if there are any 'mod test cases' along these lines.

from what i understand, mods can post as whatever username they want, and there is no why to tell who did it. when a mod posts, no IP address is logged. right?

yah they didnt really post under yr old login - they just made a one-time change to their display name - when yr a mods you can just type whatever you want in there
