hey--

i keep trying to change my name from 'strgn' to something else via popular e-mail channels but nothing comes through, and i'm tired of being mistaken for jessica harvell, so could a mod please kindly change my name to 'matt p' or show a kind fellow how to do so?

thanks in advance,
matt p

I changed it on the database. Looks like the board function to do that has broken, John, but given this has all changed to allow changeable usernames in the new code, I think it should be OK then.

Matt, it'll take some time, since your user is cached in memory, so it'll only show up after your user falls out of the cache and is re-read from the database, after some period of inactivity on your part.

not worth it

If all goes well on Monday, I should have new and actually working boradband. From my point of view, any time after that when I can be arsed would do, although I have a few more things I want to do to it before sticking it out.

Googlers now account for 75% of the traffic, compared with 50% 18 months ago, so this kind of changes things from the point of view of caching (they typically just hit random threads, other than a few popular ones), so I need to try to do something about that.
