WTF ever happened to deleting asinine Calum threads and posts? There's more now than ever.

Ask Dan.

I'm not deleting anything he posts unless it is an outright attack against another poster. Other mods may disagree. (Also I can't delete stuff I don't see; if you don't have any links, you will get no action.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 9 January 2004 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

My policy on ILM is -

- personal attacks deleted on request of the attacked individual.

- posters encouraged to ignore him

- hate threads designed to make ILM an unpleasant environment for other people (eg "Fat women disgust me" paraphrases) - I will happily lock or delete these if other people complain about their offensiveness, so feel free to and as Dan says give links. I'm not taking pro-active steps though cos it just sets him off.

This latter is a much bigger problem on ILE but I'm not on ILE anymore so it's none of my beeswax.

I try to avoid the whole ILX mod politics, but just think that it's been scientifically proven that C contributes nothing, only wants to get a reaction, etc. etc. I see that some of his threads have recently been locked, so thanks.

I do think this kind of says it all:

ILM: C-Man 199 (40)
ILE: C-Man 223 (27)

No one's started more threads in the past month. But whatevs... just making an observation. I'll start posting links as well.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Friday, 9 January 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I for one am not doing anything without a link, and even then if people have started discussing on the thread I will not delete it; the last time the moderators tried that an irritating vocal minority swamped the boards with bullshit that exceeded everything but the very worst Blount/Calum fight.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 9 January 2004 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

So a smaller minority put an end to all of it.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 9 January 2004 22:28 (twenty-two years ago)

If we actually had a mechanism to ban users, this would be academic.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 9 January 2004 22:35 (twenty-two years ago)

We can, but only some.
