Please Delete the Fat Girl Thread

I have never made any major requests of the moderators at this forum in all my time here. This is the only one I'm making - and not for the first time...

When so many people have had different threads, posts, etc deleted simply due to the fact that they felt uncomfortable having their names attached to something that could possibly be taken out of context and reflect negatively on them - and when I'm not even using a real "alias" on here, or a fake email address - I fail to understand why something I feel so strongly uncomfortable about cannot be removed as well. Especially when it's something of an extremely personal nature which relates to a specific incident I find vey painful, that I wound up writing about mindlessly in a fitful burst to exorcise myself, without ever intending for it to be repeatedly revived by people like C-Man for years to come in order to spew misogynistic venom.

I'm sorry, I was relatively new to ILX at the time and I did not know what i was doing - that's the only defense or excuse that I have. I apologize, okay? But now I'm also pointedly asking for help here.

If Ally's requests two weeks ago regarding the lack of ownership of ILX content meant anything, and inspired the deletion of her threads, I don't know why the same standard can't apply to mine.

Could someone please delete it ?

Vic, much as I find it an unpleasant thread from start to finish, I'm afraid I can't see anything that fits our guidelines for deletion. We won't delete something just because someone regrets starting it, and if we deleted every thread with Calum misogyny on it we wouldn't have too much left. I didn't read the Ally stuff that was deleted, so I can't make any useful comparisons, but I really don't see strong cause for deleting this lengthy thread.

I really think that moderation needs to be applied evenly. It's Vic's thread, he's asked for it to be deleted, I think it would be fair to at least lock it.

Someone made a mistake once, we shouldn't have to repeat it endlessly.

You guys can stop reading the thread if it bothers you, you know.

yet we can't stop you from posting pictures endlessly.

Mr Noodles, I've seriously toned down the picture posting insanity. Now get off my jock.

We can't have people automatically having the right to have threads they started locked or deleted, and we won't. I can't judge a precedent because I can't make comparisons with threads that aren't there.

Double standard around here, much?

There's one set of rules for certain people, and another set of rules for everyone else? Seems a bit unfair to me.

Stop reading it; problem solved.

Again an ILX poster's logic is knee jerk and stupid.

I clearly stated that fat women AND FAT MEN are unlikelier to pull or have good looking partners on their arms... why is that misogynistic exactly? I focused, quite clearly, on both sexes in that thread.

For the last fucking time. Misogyny is HATRED OF WOMEN. Where, on ILX, have I EVER (just give me one quote) given any example that I hate women? Quite the opposite! I love women! That's why there are so many threads about the ones I happen to love that little bit more...

Kate, a past moderator deleted threads at the request of a poster. This cannot mean that all threads can be deleted at the request of whoever started them. My job is not to follow precedent when I have no access to the threads deleted to see what kind of precedent is being set, but to follow the agreed moderator guidelines, and there is nothing in them that justifies deletion. They are what I think about in making moderator decisions, and I intend to stick with that. I don't think I have applied any double standards, and I don't like your implication - if you want to insult me, you'll have to back it up better than citing someone else's actions. If you look back at the mod board thread that is being invoked as precedent, you'll see that I gently (because I hadn't read the threads) disagreed at the time.
