The next step - which I think Noodles might be working on - is ensuring a working e-mail for newly registered users.

If you want I can get to that next. I should have some time free on Sunday to actually sit down, drink some coffee and code. From the 10th of this month to the 14th I've had 16 soccer games.

If you, Hstencil or Jon, want that thread naming you in its title deleting or locking, just say the word. That thread is enough for me to issue him an official warning, a recent new feature.

However, your comparison with Calum is idiotic, on the evidence of what I've seen. Calum has posted vicious and libellous abuse about many other posters on this board scores of times. All I've seen of Randy has been childish nuisance stuff, nothing like the same level of nastiness or quantity, nor has it been going on anything like as long.

You'll note that Calum hasn't been banned. Do I have to AGAIN explain why it's so hard to ban anyone with a floating IP?

As I said, a floating IP (a range shared by several different regulars) means we can't identify whether it is a regular or not.

Jon, talk like this is exactly why you get hassled and hated by some. I know it's a pain in the ass when someone is being deliberately provocative and unpleasant, but threatening EVERYONE in the area won't help anything. You know how hard it is to ban anyone. All we have at present is the ability to ban a username, which doesn't amount to much.

As I've just said on the deletion request thread, I will do my best to deal with requests where the moderation guidelines can be invoked, but that's really all I can offer personally.
