Syntax checker caught a post of mine tha used LI tags "without closing them."

Um, leee, you might want to take a look at the w3c standard for HTML. You're supposed to close them. The fact that they will work in some browsers without being closed isn't because that syntax follows the standard. It's because a lot of browsers are forgiving.

I got into a really bad habit of < opening> and < /closing> things that weren't < null/>.
Might be the XML that drove it into my head.
