Pictures that do or do not post: Can we get some info?

I'd like the person who actually runs the nuts and bolts of ILX (is it Andrew? I don't know who I'm addressing here) to include in the ILX FAQ exactly what the restrictions are for image posting. Like, what size (both in area and in kb) is okay? It would really be nice to be able to know before posting a pic whether it will show up or not. If there is a thread where this is covered, please point me to it. thanks.

I've found anything under 600 x 600 as my usual rule of thumb, and fairly compressed for web-viewing. Other than that, I don't have much.
