Can threads be deleted? What is locking a thread?
Threads can be deleted but we don't like to do it often and will not delete a thread apart from in exceptional circumstances. These include:
- Libellous threads. If we think a thread might be libellous it might be deleted. This hasn't happened very often.
- Personal threads. If a thread is started discussing a registered user or their actions, that user has the right to ask for it to be deleted or locked. The thread does not have to be an attack on the user. This does not apply to threads users start themselves and later regret.

Jon, I think the guidelines for locking a thread are not that tight. Even if Orbit started the thread and can't ask for it's deletion, I think the amount of bullshit on it is enough for it to be locked.

Dear mods-
This thread, since its revivial by the noize boys is nothing but a serious of vicious trolls and porno pictures. We can lock troll threads, right? Well this is pretty obviously a troll thread--since the noize boys took over it's not different from a Calum thread.

The thread was originally started in a particular historical context. When it was revived, it was revived for the express purpose of vicious harrassment, when I had said nothing, and done nothing expcet point out Chaki's own rudeness and asshattery towards me on AIM. I had made no negative commennt about Dean, Chaki, or Jon when this harrassment started. It is simply them doing it because they can get away with it.

They act like a gang, and ILE would be better off without them, because I sure as hell can't see what they are contributing.
