Yeah, so I *sort of* get where you're coming from with this, and it's a lot easier when people keep a consistent identity over time - I get confused about who used to be who sometimes. But think about the wide and varied reasons for wanting to change your DN: you lost your old email account and want to have an account connected to a functioning one; you were a dick with your last DN but would quite like to not be a dick now and don't want the baggage of history; you weren't a dick with your last DN but do want to be a dick now; ban evasion; general trolling; you have a stalker; you don't have a stalker but do have privacy concerns; your old DN was shit and you'd just like to have one that doesn't make you cringe every time you see it; your old DN was your real name and you realised that was a bad idea. That's probably not a comprehensive list, but it covers a lot of the bases, and I have no idea why you're choosing to immediately jump to "I specifically want to confuse and exclude Dan S" and then making yourself angry about it.

I think people conflate "invite only" with "opt-in once we have a general idea of who you are" and think there's exclusivity, which isn't really the case

Looks like I can access it on desktop, but not my phone. Might have something to do with the fact I'm constantly being asked to login when I post from my phone - ILX can't seem to remember me, despite me posting on here at least once a day

iirc your login status is dependant on a local cookie.

ie. ilx doesn't "remember" anyone... your desktop/phone browser settings are what keep you logged in.

dl, you need to delete your browsing history and cookies from your browser. You can selectively target the ILXor.com domain if you don’t want to zap everything.

I assume Zing stores some local file containing login info, equivalent to cookies for a browser.

It hadn't occurred to me to use Zing. I have been using the browser on my phoen for years. Does it work on Android? I can't see it in Playstore

Ah i think I know what was happening: For some reason each time I was hitting "autofill" when logging in, it would automatically hit the "login" button without giving me a chance to hit the "remember me" box. So maybe this has fixed it.
