it's kinda simple: assume if it's on 77, people don't want it reposted in public forums.
innocuous lol lines/references to 77 threads are kinda uncool but tolerated; direct quotations are frowned upon; statements made by individual posters, especially pertaining to off-board matters, or evidence dug up just to start shit or create/continue arguments off 77 are going to be erased and you gonna get sent to the principal's office.
part of what 77 has evolved into is a deindexed place for anyone who's been on ilx long enough to go to and talk without IRL repercussions; it's our /b/ minus most of the more unsavory elements. if you're requesting access/posting/lurking in 77, the only rule is that you respect the stated and inherent boundary line and "don't be a dick".

Considering that 77 material has shown up on bco, I think treating it like a "safe haven" is a terrible idea.

I mean, you can if you want to, but it's probably better to operate under the assumption that anything you post to a messageboard will eventually appear in front of your mom and/or employer (whichever would be most embarrassing).

I put something on 77 once that got back to someone who didn't read ILX from someone who did. That was fun. I mean, you realize that the normal boards have non-registered or non-participating lurkers but I didn't even really think about putting it on 77.

I did know this but I feel like if I hid boards there'd immediately be some amazingly brilliant thing on it (like, for instance, had the 'photoshop Andrei Arshavin' thread been started more recently it'd have been put on I Love Football, and to miss that would have been to miss a thing of pure joy).
