Copycat threads today

Back in the day these were usually locked and/or deleted by mods. Moving them to Aja/Dante would be nice but I have INSUFFICIENT PRIVILEGES. I suppose ignoring them might also work but this is a bit too radical for my liking...

Hahaha the mods (ie, I) would also get YELLED AT by British posters if they became too overzealous in cracking down on copycat threads.

Yeah they've always been tolerated, by me at least. ILE moves fast enough that the lamer ones drop off within a day, no worry really.

Once it reaches its fourth or fifth iteration it's probably time to crack down.

I think they get scorned at more when they're started by a logged in regular - when the author is anon people just accept it as par for the course more readily it seems. ILE New Questions looks a lot like the Noise Board today what with all the all caps threads, the only difference being there aren't half as many lame copycat threads on the Noise board.
