would like to request that people mostly use youtube links instead of youtube embeds in this thread, since long threads with lots of embeds crash/hang browsers for a lot of people

They are. I would recommend turning off images as that will allow you to load with no problems.

if you want to post links to each of the offending posts, someone may be able to help you. In terms of stopping people from doing this, there's not much to be done. It's a function of the board and not something that can be turned off for individual threads. If it's something you want turned off for the whole site, that's a different question and prob best addressed on I Must Protest.
