pix query

hey, I'll be formatting a lot of screengrab movie-stills for the horror poll results thread & just curious: What is the max horiz pixel width for image posts? Is there a vert ceiling as well? Ideally, I'd like to have all the stills fall w/in the default pixel limit so that the images are not compressed or distorted.

Someone else is very likely to be more qualified to answer this than I, but I think it's something like 600 pix wide before stuff gets compressed. I don't know how high it has to be before compression, but the only ones that I ever see under 600w, but compressed anyway are the long-cat-is-long type of art.

Seems like there are some styles on here that give you unlimited sizing, so all of this might boil down to different answers per style sheet.
