Please, I need to change the email address associated with my account

I have been trying to figure this out for years now. I read and contribute to this board but I can't get email notifications for anything, or send private messages back and forth, because I lost the domain name, and thus the email, associated with this account.

I see I can change my password, or my public email, but I really need to change the primary email associated with the account. Can someone help me with this? Thank you.

I really want to do the same

you need to get new accounts

seriously? I already did that and then I forgot which was associated with what email. Can't someone just change the damn email?

Sitewide mods can't do it -- you're at the mercy of top-level admins. My advice: quit forgetting stuff, or write it down somewhere.

Alright, is there an email address or form where I might politely ask one of these top level admins to help me out?

I bumped your request on the mod discussion board.

yeah, you need to re-reg with a new email address. if you're worried about tiger-mate taking control of PublicRadio let me know and i'll deactivate it.

Alright well, I don't know what tiger mate is, but I guess I'll re-register.

PublicRadio, Friday, 25 May 2012 17:57 (thirteen years ago)

There's a note from him on the homepage of your email domain

stet, Friday, 25 May 2012 18:42 (thirteen years ago)

Ha! Well, that's someone else's problem now. I don't care if tiger mate gets into my ilm account. I registered for a new identity, though, and never got an email.

So has no one ever changed their email address?? Have the admins ever made an exception? How hard can it be? I'm a web developer, and I feel like if I had access I could probably change my own email address pretty easily. Is it that they just don't want to do it?

I just dealt with the pending registrations, so if yours was one of them, you should be getting your email shortly.

It's hard because emails are used as the internal user id in a number of places (eg there's no separate user_id number), and this is the resulting drawback of that. So no, it's not easy and I think we've done it maybe once.
