hide images?

there is some weirdness on a board? i read about it, on a thread, somewhere. i didnt see it though, as i have hide images turned on

just think, if this was the default, less people would even notice

Hey so how come when someone ("someone") posts like 200 repetitions of the same image, the Hide Images function manages to defeat the first hundred or so, but then runs out of steam and collapses and lets the second hundred slip through?

Nathalie, if you click on "settings" at the bottom of the page (when you're logged in), there's a checkbox for "hide images" near the bottom.

I can confirm that hide images meant I did not see a single bit of the CSS palaver - its possible those who were seeing it had in in cache before they changed their settings. It works, and it really renders idiocy usless. Everyone wins!

Hide images seems to block the style-sheet stuff, but I'm serious about the other thing -- hide images will block like 100 images in a row (not yet in cache), and then something slips and the others load. One wouldn't think this would ever be an issue, but here we are, with the occasional post that repeats the same image 864 times.
