So weird thing: I can post with this user account from home, and using Zing (as I am right now). But I can't post using my work computer. It says "you have been barred". Anyone know why, and is there a way to unbar me?

Didn't you request a self-ban a little while ago? I think you need to contact a mod.

Am I right in thinking you have another alias that's banned? There's certainly another user banned under your IP range.

Yep, I made it almost 2 weeks! it's my Z S alias that was self-banned, but I didn't realize it was banning the IP, not the account itself. So if there is a way to unblock it I'd be grateful!

OTM, if ILX addiction is such a problem that you can't restrain yourself then a ban isn't going to help. There's prominent poster who requested a self-ban and lasted THREE DAYS before asking to be unbanned, which is just stupid.

None of this is a slam on ZS who I have always liked as a poster.

Yeah z s is cool, feel like everybody who requests a self-ban should be permabanned tho

hahaha, no it's fair, it's fair. i thought that perhaps a self-ban would work because i would lose interest by not being able to actually interact with people. and i did make a fair effort to not open it in the first place. but then things kept happening in the world and i was too curious about what smartass things were being said on ILX about the things happening in the world, and...things snowballed.

but i appreciate the help, and i can see how these things would be annoying for a mod.
